Preparing for Summer 2021 – We are back in person!

We are so excited to welcome back our teen staff and many of our visiting camps and programs for summer field trips filled with outdoor fun during the summer of 2021! We are counting down the days until the start of our in-person summer programming on July 1st. We're planting the garden, clearing the trails, and we have a pickup date for our goats.

While we are thrilled to be running onsite programs again, we also need to be sure everyone is Covid safe! We will have to take extra precautions to keep our visitors and community safe and 6ft apart. We estimate these extra "Covid Safety Costs" to be around $5,000.

Many of you may know our blue picnic tables - These are usually full of happy campers eating lunch, with four to six children to a table. This summer, however, we have to keep children 6ft apart while eating which means we can only seat two children per table. 

That means we need to buy, build, and paint 12 more tables to host a group of 40 campers and 5 adult staff. Plus, we need 12 new colorful umbrellas to keep the sun and light rain at bay. We are also budgeting for weekly Covid testing and N95 masks for all our summer staff so we can be sure that everyone is healthy and ready to safely meet our visitors.
