Paper Making I & II with Akemi

Come join us for a two part fun and creative workshop where you'll learn the art of paper making!

Learn to make your own paper art! Master papermaker and professional artist, Akemi Martin, will teach the basics of this 2,000 year old craft in this 2 part workshop.

You will learn this sustainable art form by making your own sheets of paper, collecting and embedding plants from the beautiful Nature Linc surroundings, painting with “paper pulp” and pulping your old, tattered blue jeans to remake a into paper!

We will provide all the items you make your very own paper!

Open to ages 8+ with an Adult.

Akemi Martin is an artist and master papermaker, who ran the Pace Paper studio in Brooklyn, NY before relocating to MA. With over 17 years of experience, she has taught papermaking at Dieu Donnè in NYC, Penland School of Craft, NC and currently teaches at both The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in NY and Boston University.

In an era dominated by digital media, Akemi finds that papermaking offers increasingly tangible and expressive potentialities as an art medium. She lives in Lincoln, MA with her partner and two children.
